An apple tree needs to give apples

In the previous email, we discussed the metaphor of the apple tree growing in windy conditions, causing it to lean. Despite this, it still produced apples — it just wasn’t perfect.

This metaphor represents the internal blocks we carry and how they shape us.

But it’s not just about the blocks we develop due to external circumstances. It’s also about the powerful internal energy that longs for expression.

An apple tree is meant to bear apples. It doesn’t matter if it grows leaning to one side, among rocks, or with other obstacles in its way — it will still try to produce fruit or die trying.

I once read a news article about a notebook discovered from a World War I soldier.

The notebook was filled with sketches he had drawn while in the trenches, using only a pen — probably the only tool he had.

Even in the harshest conditions, something inside him needed to come out. There was still a force within him — a life energy — desperately seeking expression.

An apple tree must bear apples. It’s in its nature.

This is the deepest part of our Will. No matter what blocks or defenses we carry, something within us always seeks expression. Whether through art, business, sports, gardening, or any other pursuit, this internal drive is undeniable.

Understanding this means understanding our true Will — not the fleeting desires of the ego shaped by society, but something much deeper.

That’s the goal of the Will Mastery course: to help you discover, harness, and fulfill this deeper part of your Will.
