I’m sure you have certain characteristics you would prefer not to have.
Just like everyone else.
Maybe it’s a bit of extra weight. Maybe it’s a big nose. Maybe it’s your height.
On many cases, there’s nothing you can do about it.
But, pretty much everyone will have a hidden insecurity. Something they are ashamed about.
Your relationship with this insecurity will decide how much power it has over you.
If you try to hide it, the more power it will have over you.
You are fuelling it with energy. You are giving it power as you try to push it away out of sight and avoid it.
It’s like when you keep pushing the dirt under the rug. It works for a while, but it keeps piling up until there’s a big lump everyone sees.
With this insecurity, when you hide it, you fuel your anxiety and reduce your inner power.
Let’s say your insecurity is due to a big nose. Each time you look at a mirror you see it and feel bad, each time someone mentions anything about a nose, you feel bad. If someone talks specifically about your nose, you feel like dying and bury your head in the sand.
All this will slowly contribute to a low inner power and self-esteem.
Yet, if you own it, you gain power over it. So what if you have a big nose? Or if you are short? or have a bit of extra weight?
On large majority of the cases, no else cares about the thing you are so ashamed about.
Even if they do, it’s up to you to decide how much power it will have over you.
One you own it, once you decide that you have a big nose and that you are going to live with it, no one else will be able to affect you.
Most importantly, you won’t negatively affect your own inner power with it.
There’s already plenty of hard things we need to do in life that affect our inner power, there’s no need to keep creating more.
