We sure talk and write a lot about energy and inner work. We discuss how to become aware of your energy, accept what you are, observe your inner voice, among many others. And yes, all those elements are absolutely essential to develop magnetism and inner power.
But somewhere along the way, an assumption can snuck in: that if you’re struggling, the answer is always more reflection, more acceptance, more awareness.
But we need to understand that is not always true.
Sometimes your environment is the problem. Sometimes the relationship drains you because it actually drains you, not because you haven’t processed your attachment wounds deeply enough. Sometimes the job feels wrong because it is wrong for you, not because you’re running from something. Sometimes the city, the routine, the circle of people around you stopped fitting a long time ago, and no amount of energy work will fix that.
There’s real growth in learning to accept what you can’t change. But there’s also real growth in changing what you can, and knowing the difference between the two is the actual work, as the old prayer goes.
Action is not always avoidance, moving is not always running away. So deciding to leave, to try, to build something different, to speak up, to draw a line, these are not always signs of someone who hasn’t done the work… they are the work!
Some people spend years meditating on why they feel stuck, when what they actually need is to quit the job, end the relationship, move to a different place, or simply ask for what they need out loud.
The insight without the action that accompanies it, just becomes another story you tell yourself about why things are the way they are.
One more way you can feel stuck.
Growth asks different things from you at different times: sometimes it asks you to slow down and look inward, while others it asks you to get up and do something about it. You need to understand in which moment you’re in.
After all that reflection, a persistent feeling that something is wrong deserves respect, not more analysis or awareness. You already know and you’ve known for a while.
Your external world has its own reality and some situations are simply what they look like, and they need to change.
And you’re allowed to change them!
You don’t have to transmute everything into energy work. Sometimes the most honest, most courageous, most growth-forward thing you can do is decide that something has to be different, and then go make it different.
The energy work has led you here… this is what it was for.
