The internal debate vs Will

I’m sure you have commitments, work, tasks that you need to accomplish when you really don’t feel like it.

We all do.

Maybe it’s some tasks that you have been postponing. Or a certain project.

Can even be washing the dishes or working out.

Either way, you know you should, but you don’t feel like it.

What happens is that, on one hand, you have something telling you that you need to do something.

On the other hand, you have something else telling you how nice it is to be sitting down on your sofa, or browsing the internet.

You’re only delaying these tasks you need to do because you are debating with your mind and giving in to your internal conflict.

The more “debate” you have with your own internal voice, the less you’ll feel like doing what you need to do.

At that moment, you need an act of Will, not a debate.

It’s about the doing. It’s not about thinking.

You need a body moved by your Will, not by your mind and internal voice.

Your internal voice and your mind will always bring your attention to whatever low impact activity you are doing, like browsing the web, or comfortably sitting on your sofa, or watching a TV show.

It won’t help you in doing what needs to be done.

That’s the role of the Will.

So the more attention you place on your mind, inner voice and comfortable feelings, the less you’ll feel like doing the tasks.

Once you get up and start doing what you need to do without any debate or internal talk, the easier it will be for you.
