The normal energy contractions

It seems that not many people understand the energetic contractions we all experience.

It seems that not many people truly understand the energetic contractions we all experience.

Having our energy contract isn’t a bad thing—it’s normal and happens thousands of times every day. For instance, when you eat, your stomach and belly contract because they need to work to digest the food. And that’s perfectly fine.

Digestion, like many processes, relies on a balance of contraction and expansion. When you eat, your stomach expands to accommodate the food. Later, rhythmic contractions — known as peristalsis — mix the gastric juices and move the partially digested food into your intestines, after which your stomach relaxes again.

So yes, contractions are essential, but so are expansions and relaxations. In fact, the natural resting state of the body is one of relaxation — not a constant state of tension or contraction.

The issue arises when we remain unaware of our habitual energetic and muscular contractions. You might think you’re relaxed, but often, there are underlying tensions you simply don’t notice.

Massage therapists understand this well. The moment they place their hands on someone, they can feel areas of tension — even if the person insists they’re relaxed.

This presents a challenge because contractions are also limitations. For example, if my hand is clenched tightly into a fist, there are many things I can’t do. Ideally, we’d want to contract and relax as needed, rather than being stuck in one state that limits our behavior.

The same principle applies to our internal contractions. They’re like unseen pressures we carry without realizing it, and these have significant consequences. They influence our behaviors, thoughts, beliefs, and actions because of the pressure they exert.

Often, we don’t even feel these internal tensions because we’ve grown so accustomed to them. We assume that being a certain way — reacting or thinking in specific patterns — is normal. However, true normality is the ability to contract and expand as needed, not to remain in a constant state of contraction.

When we start to disidentify from our energy, feelings, and physical body, we gain the ability to observe these patterns objectively. This awareness allows us to release unnecessary tension, expand our energy, and create the magnetism we desire.

That’s what we start to do in the course:
