One of our greatest sources of power, and also one of our greatest drains, is the power of choice. Every decision you make, from the smallest to the biggest, either builds your Will and inner power or weakens them
Choosing is never neutral. It’s an act of creation or destruction, of gaining power, keeping it, or losing it.
At any moment, you can choose what to do, you can choose to do something else, you can even choose not to do anything at all.
And make no mistake, paralysis is also a choice. When you stay frozen in indecision, you’re still choosing not to move. Reflection is valuable, but endless hesitation drains energy just as much as reckless action.
Once you become aware of your energy system, you start to notice how each choice affects your energy: you either feel stronger or weaker. Your body and mind usually tell you right away whether your choice aligns with your Will or goes against it.
Take something simple, like checking your phone first thing in the morning. Notice how it feels to scroll through messages before your own thoughts have even woken up. Compare that to how you feel when you wait until later in the day. Maybe you’re already so used to the habit that resisting it feels impossible, but once you break that grip and pay attention to the difference… it’s striking.
One choice clears your mind, the other scatters it.
Now think about a social situation: you say yes when your heart says no. You accept invitations, favors, or conversations out of guilt or politeness, and later you wonder why you feel drained. It’s rarely the company that exhausts you, instead it’s the betrayal of your own Will.
Every false yes is a small surrender of your power.
This is why choice matters so deeply. When you act in line with your true Will, you gain clarity and strength. When you go against it, you lose energy and direction.
And this isn’t about chasing every impulse or emotion… that’s chaos and not Will. The difference is subtle but important, and we’ll explore it in the next email.
