What we talked about in the last email — understanding impulses without being ruled by them — is especially useful when it comes to sexual energy.
Sexual impulses tend to hit harder than most. They don’t just stir your thoughts… they rush through the body. They’re primal, instinctive, and often intense. And because of that, they can be some of the hardest to handle with any real awareness.
There are entire online communities built around this struggle. Forums, podcasts, books— all trying to make sense of sex. And it’s good that people are finally talking about it. A few decades ago, this topic was buried — ignored, moralized, or just repressed.
Now it’s out in the open.
But even so, most of the conversation still misses the mark.
You can pile on psychological theories — about childhood roots, archetypes, evolution — and sure, some of it helps.
But if you can’t feel the energy in your body, if you can’t notice how it rises and how you react in the moment, it’s just theory. Detached. Useless when the impulse actually hits.
This isn’t about adding more ideas to the pile.
It’s about getting real with what sexual energy actually feels like inside you. How it moves. What it brings up: desire, craving, fantasy, shame. It’s about noticing the urge to act, without blindly acting on it. Seeing the pattern, start to finish.
Because here’s the truth: if you can’t sit with sexual energy, feel its charge without scrambling for release or distraction, then it controls you. You’re not channeling it, you’re reacting to it.
The goal isn’t to shame it or repress it. The work is to become conscious of it.
To build enough internal steadiness that you can hold the energy without being hijacked. That’s the point where Will meets awareness. And that’s when sexual energy becomes something you can work with — instead of something that rules over you.
That’s when it stops being just an urge and starts becoming a source of power.
