The real purpose behind the practice

Many people misunderstand the role of the exercises in the Charisma School courses, so it’s worth clearing that up.

The exercises are not the destination, instead they are the threshold. They exist to open something, not to be collected, mastered, or repeated forever. They work best when you treat them less like assignments and more like tools that reveal parts of you that were already there, but unnoticed.

If someone approaches these exercises with the mindset of accumulation (ie. do more or repeat endlessly) they are missing the point entirely.

The goal is never to chain yourself to a routine for the rest of your life since that would be something similar to a spiritual bodybuilding that only leads to something superficial and hollow. Exercises are more like a temporary scaffolding: once the building stands, the scaffolding comes down.

What the exercises are really doing is sharpening perception. They train you to notice and to feel the subtle currents of energy moving through your body, and to recognize how attention shifts, how intention crystallizes and how tension forms and dissolves.

They slow you down enough to reveal patterns that usually remain invisible in the noise of daily life.

Through them, you begin to understand how your mind and energy actually work… not how you THINK it works, but how you actually behave under pressure, desire, fear, and anticipation. You start seeing the reflexes that drive your reactions, the stories you tell yourself and the habits of avoidance or control that quietly run the show.

And slowly, something shifts… you stop performing the exercises and start living their principles. Awareness migrates from the practice space into conversations, decisions, posture, silence. Magnetism and charisma stop being something you “do” and becomes something you are.

So be honest: if you’re clinging to the exercises, it’s probably because they still have something to teach you. And if you’re ready to let them go, that too is a sign of progress. The work was never about the movements themselves but instead it was about understanding why you move the way you do (internally and externally) and taking responsibility over that motion.
