What inner work actually IS

In the previous post, we talked about what inner work is not. It’s important to get clear on that, because if you don’t know what the process isn’t, it’s hard to understand what it actually is.

A lot of us believe the rational mind is the center of everything. If we can think logically and reason things out, we assume we can figure anything out.

But the truth is… our thoughts and reasoning are often shaped by what’s happening in our bodies.

You can see this in simple, everyday moments. For example, notice what happens when you’re hungry. Let’s say you skip lunch.

What do you feel? You might get cranky or impatient. Your mood shifts. Then your thoughts start to change too. You might start daydreaming about food or getting annoyed with people for no real reason.

If you stay stuck in your head, you might not realize what’s really going on. You could start blaming others or telling yourself stories about why everyone else is being difficult, without recognizing that your own state — your hunger — is driving your behavior.

This kind of example shows something important: you are not just your thoughts. You’re not just a mind. There are many layers within you: physical, emotional, and mental… and they all influence how you feel, think, and behave.

If you don’t recognize these layers, or understand how they affect each other, it’s hard to know yourself clearly.

That’s why we always begin with the basics: understanding these layers. Your body, your emotions, your thoughts… all of them shape your experience.

But at there is something that connects everything: your energy.

Energy is the link between the layers. It’s not just something you notice during intense moments. It’s always there, quietly influencing how you move, react, relate, and think.

The energy you feel in yourself and in others works like a signal. It carries information between your body, emotions, and mind. It helps you sense what’s really happening inside.

This is why energy matters so much.

When you learn to feel and understand it, you start to see what’s really going on. You begin to notice how emotions affect your thinking, how physical tension shifts your mood, and how subtle impulses lead to certain choices. Instead of just thinking about it, you experience it. You understand yourself from the inside out.

That’s exactly what we focus on in our course Advanced Energy Science. We help you move beyond theory and into direct awareness. You learn how to feel what’s actually happening in your system, how to follow those signals, and how to work with them in a clear, grounded way.

If you want to stop guessing and start sensing, if you want to know yourself in a real and practical way, this is where that journey begins.
