In the previous email, I shared how energy offers a direct way to understand the unconscious, often faster and clearer than dreams or other means. By paying attention to bodily sensations, we can read what is happening within us and around us in real time.
This kind of listening sounds straightforward, but it rarely feels that way in practice. Most people don’t doubt the body because it is unclear. They doubt it because something else steps in almost immediately: the mind gets in the way.
The mind is loud: it comments, explains, judges, justifies and it rushes in with stories the moment a sensation appears.
For example: a tight chest becomes “I’m anxious for no reason.” A sinking stomach turns into “I’m being irrational.” A surge of energy is quickly labeled “excitement” or “danger,” depending on old habits.
The body speaks briefly and clearly… it’s the mind that talks over it.
From an early age, most of us were trained to override bodily signals in favor of rules, expectations, and approval: “sit still”, “be polite”, “don’t make a scene”, and so forth.
Over time, the mind learned to reinterpret sensation so life could keep moving smoothly.
What once helped us adapt now creates noise.
The result is that many people believe their inner signals are unreliable or chaotic. They say they feel “mixed messages.” In reality, the signals are 100% clean. The confusion comes from the commentary layered on top of them.
Take a common example: you feel a sudden drop in energy when someone makes a request. The body pulls back but before you can register it, the mind jumps in: “Don’t be difficult”, “you’re overreacting”, “you should be grateful.”
In this example, what looked like confusion is simply a clear signal buried under mental pressure.
Or consider attraction: you are on the date and the body leans forward, there is warmth and curiosity. A moment later, the mind recalls past mistakes so it scans for danger. Soon the original signal is blurred into doubt. You then say you cannot tell what you feel… but you can. You just stopped listening at the first sentence.
Learning to read energy is less about adding skill and more about removing interference. The task is to slow down enough to notice sensation before interpretation or to feel the signal without immediately explaining it.
At first, this feels uncomfortable since the mind dislikes silence and prefers certainty, even false certainty, over openness. But with practice, a shift happens. Sensations become familiar and the patterns repeat. So you begin to recognize how your body says yes, how it says no, and how it signals caution.
Once this happens, trust grows naturally and your decisions feel simpler. Keep in mind they are not necessarily easier, but, at least, they are cleaner.
You spend less time arguing with yourself and less energy repairing choices you already knew were wrong.
The signals were never unclear, they were just drowned out. The body has been speaking the whole time, you are just not listening.
